In Match 13 of the TATA IPL 2025, Punjab Kings easily defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets thanks of a strong all-around effort. At home, LSG was held to 171/7 by a disciplined bowling performance before PBKS successfully chased it down. Nehal Wadhera (43* off 25), captain Shreyas Iyer (52* off 30), and Player-of-the-Match Prabhsimran Singh (69 off 34) led the visitors to a perfect finish and kept them undefeated in the league. In this blog we will discuss Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants Highlight IPL 2025.
Even though they lost Priyansh Arya to Digvesh Rathi early for 8 (9) while chasing 172, Punjab Kings got off to a strong start. As skipper Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh attacked the bowlers, PBKS solidly controlled the powerplay.
In an attempt to make a breakthrough, Rishabh Pant added spin early , but Prabhsimran had other ideas. He faced Ravi Bishnoi and helped PBKS reach 62/1 at the end of the powerplay by scoring 15 runs in the sixth over.

Prabhsimran’s ability to manipulate the field and display a wide variety of strokes made him unstoppable. With a brilliant 69 off 34 balls, he sped to his maiden fifty of the season. Ayush Badoni and Bishnoi combined for a superb catch at deep mid-wicket to break an 84-run stand just as he appeared to be ready for more.
PBKS maintained their momentum in spite of the wicket. After Iyer was joined by impact player Nehal Wadhera, there was complete dominance. The hosts had no hope of a comeback as the two launched into the LSG attack. In his debut for PBKS, Wadhera looked fluid and complemented the reliable Iyer. They won handily thanks to their undefeated 67-run partnership off only 37 deliveries. Iyer concluded in fine fashion, hitting a six to get his second straight fifty (52*), and Wadhera was still undefeated at 43*.
The Punjab Kings’ choice to bowl first earlier today was immediately successful when Arshdeep Singh got rid of Mitchell Marsh in the first over. Lockie Ferguson kept the LSG hitters in check by maintaining the pressure with his pace.
In the fourth over, Aiden Markram counterattacked with two beautiful drives off Ferguson, but the pacer hit back, dismissing him for a quick 28 (18). Shreyas Iyer executed a brilliant tactical move by introducing Glenn Maxwell’s off-spin while Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran were at the crease. The approach instantly paid off, as at the end of the powerplay, LSG was at 39/3 after Maxwell dismissed Pant.
Then, Nicholas Pooran spearheaded the comeback by facing the spinners from PBKS. In the tenth over, he hit Chahal for sixteen runs, but the most successful bowler in TATA IPL history made a spectacular comeback. With a brilliant googly that was a vital wicket at that stage of the game, Chahal outscored Pooran for 44(30) in his subsequent over.
Ayush Badoni and David Miller tried to control the innings, but Miller edged out for 19 after Marco Jansen’s incisive delivery. After announcing himself with a massive six, Abdul Samad and Badoni surged in the final overs. The pair stitched up a rapid 47-run partnership, taking Arshdeep for 20 runs in the 18th over. Samad’s 27 (12) and Badoni’s 41 (33) enabled LSG record a strong 171/7. In order to limit the total and guarantee that PBKS had a target within reach, Arshdeep finished with 3/43.
